Murren to Grieslap

Not gonna lie - today was brutal. I was warned. They didn’t lie. The downside - intermittent rain all day so very few views (that’s why God invented postcards) mud, mud, mud, I was chased by a cow and closely followed by a goat with horns (they lied about that) The nearly 4,000 feet of descent was mostly loose rock which is much worse than the 3300 feet of ascent. Did not see that coming! Sound awful? Not really. The rain was a light rain, I have great rain gear, I didn’t get lost, I didn’t get hurt, I freaking crossed a mountain on a high and narrow pass, the innkeeper at my destination could see how absolutely wiped I was and insisted I sit for a cup of tea and zwieback which was lovely.
The place I’m staying is best described as a hamlet. I was upgraded to the honeymoon suite. That’s the only part of the day Bill would have loved and I missed him! Almost no English spoken and almost no German spoken by me but we are figuring it out. Love watching and listening to everyone and everything around me. I know please and thank you which helps. Tomorrow is a rest day. Gluten free and lactose intolerant folks might want to skip Switzerland. Cheeses and bread are sooo good.

Little places like this pop up in the middle of nowhere.

Rot Stock Hutte. You can stay here, eat, drink, and use the bathroom. I needed to keep moving.

The Seifinenfrugge, the pass I crossed.

MUD

The initial descent (turns out this was the easy part)

Regrets? None.
