Day 2, August 28 Lauterbrunnen Mannlichen

After a good night’s sleep with the windows open listening to the rain, I awoke to what I had missed in the dark last night.

Lauterbrunnen to Wengen to Klein Scheidegg to Mannlichen. I hiked from Klein Scheidegg to Mannlichen. Easy, short hike. Things get real tomorrow.

This is what I actually saw. At least it had quit raining and I am HIKING IN THE ALPS!

Walking through the fog was surreal. All I could hear were cowbells. This area does not need more cowbell

These bars are along the trail. Not to keep hikers out but to keep the cows out.

The offenders

Toward the end of the day some of the fog lifted and I was able to get a few peeks of what awaits.

The lines at the top are avalanche fences.

Something I hope I never need!

I hade the house rosti for dinner -potatoes, onion, bacon, cheese and egg. What’s not to love? (I barely managed half of it)
